　　坐落在瑞士的日内瓦洲际饭店(HotelIntercontinentalGeneva)是一家已累积40年历史国际声誉的知名饭店。如何随时代脉动，在维系饭店既有声誉又能随潮流与时俱进的两相要求下，季裕棠(TonyChi)这位享誉国际的室内设计师再度运用令人惊叹的设计能力将日内瓦洲际饭店(HotelIntercontinentalGeneva)的公共空间变装，赋予崭新的设计风貌。

　　「这几乎是近年来我所设计最受关注的案子之一。」季裕棠说。「这些公共空间不仅提供了饭店一个完全崭新面貌─现代，同时又是经典。并?这座精致城市及在隆河畔的自然之美作了一项极佳的国际见证。」

　　季裕棠表示，整体设计、颜色、材料以及家具的选择都是为了突显这间有着327房间、67顶级客房的日内瓦洲际饭店的两个特质：作为欢迎顾客到访的贴心感受，以及日内瓦这座国际城市的一种表征。

　　从一个崭新优雅的外观开始，由接待区外高耸的抛光莱姆石面延伸至室内再串联Lobby、各式沙龙、酒吧、餐厅以及宴会厅等公共空间。在入口处铺设了与日内瓦当地旧城镇一样的石材，大门为特别订制7.8米高的上油青铜玻璃门，绝佳的空间穿透性，呼应了季裕棠刻意为此饭店所塑造视觉延伸的空间层次感，7.8米的高度也赋予一种更为震撼的尺度感受。

　　饭店内部，迎接顾客的Lobby以及LesSalons等待区，延续户外以不抛光的莱姆石墙面以及挑空7.8米的天花所围塑，两侧各有一座壁炉，并装置由韩国艺术家LeeJaeHyo设计，以树枝制成的球型摆饰。往内，坐落于两翼极为宽敞的主楼梯，以双动线串连楼上的酒吧与宴会厅，两边各耸立了圆弧凹槽造型的装饰莱姆石墙。

　　LesSalons的左侧与右侧分别是「Woods」餐厅以及「LesNations」酒吧。恰如其名的Woods，撷取瑞士自然美景为设计灵感来源，共分为3区，从入口处塑立了由韩国艺术家LeeJaeHyo设计，以木材堆砌再雕刻成的装饰桌，将空间分隔为提供正式用餐的餐厅以及较随性轻松的沙龙。另外还有户外区，提供顾客于自然环境中用餐。在视觉尽头的墙面，利用干燥叶子串成垂直动态的雕塑品，是Woods的另一项特色。LesNations则以昏暗的氛围铺陈，摆满书籍，让顾客能放松并享受片刻的宁静。所有家具皆以皮革里覆，制造一种奢华的基调以及温润质地。

　　往上走，围绕着Lobby挑空分别是OBar、TheBalconySalon、TheCoffeeSalon，其中，TheBalconySalon拥有浏览整座饭店的最佳位置。彼此之间可利用两座活动门的开合，作为商务人士休憩或私人派对的弹性使用。往内，宴会厅的大门是由艺术家ChristianHeckscher所设计的蚀刻金属门，内部天花是以特殊的竹篮式织法(BasketWeave)放大比例后，作为天花板的造形设计。一旁，接待室内的6米长矩形水晶吊灯则是另一个焦点。

　　坐落在日内瓦如此安静的住宅区内不仅可以眺望LacLeman，如今整体设计更融入了环绕四周的街景以及这个城市既有的美，包括隆河和环绕阿尔卑斯山脉的景色。。季裕棠不仅为日内瓦洲际饭店设计了一个汇聚众人目光的崭新公共区域，同时也一并呼应了日内瓦这座国际一流的美丽城市。编译」周巽莉

　　“Theobjectivewastoprovidethehotelwithacompletelynewlook-modern,butclassical-andatonewiththenaturalbeautyandsophisticatedinternationalpresenceofthecityontheRhone,"headds."WiththefullsupportofIntercontinental,weachievedthatwonderfully.Theoveralldesign,thecolors,thematerials,thefurniturewereallchosentogivetheIntercontinentalGenevaagrandpresencethatisbothwelcomingtoguestsandsymbolicofthecity'simportantroleinSwisslifeandglobalaffairs.OneofthehighlightsoftherenovationisthewonderfullyproportionedGreatHall,withitstallceilings,itshugeflutedlimestonecolumns,flankedeachsidebygrandstaircasestotheballroomarea,itstwo-storylimestonefireplaceanditsbeautifulartworks.AnotheristhegreatBallroomitselfwithitslargereceptionandpre-functionspaces,featuringetchedsilverdoorsanddecorativepanelsbyChristofleandglasscrystalchandeliers(re-usingthecrystalsfromtheoldballroomchandeliers),thegrandscale"basketweave"ceilingoverheadandfloortoceilingwindowsattherear."Topavetheentranceweusedlocalstone,thesameasGeneva'soldtown,"headds."Eithersideoftheentrydoortherearebufflimestonecolumnswiththreedifferentfinishes.Thedooritselfisinoil-rubbedbronzeandis7.8meterstall.Togetherthesefeaturesgiveafeelingofscalegreateritsactualsize.Therearealsooutsidelightfixturesunderthecanopy."

　　LocatedinaquietresidentialareaofGenevaoverlookingLacLeman,theexteriordesignnowblendsnicelywiththesurroundingstreetscapeandcomplementsthecity'sownbeauty,exemplifiedbytheRiverRhoneandthesurroundingalpinescenery.

　　Architecturally,theflutedlimestonecolumns,twograndstonestaircasesandtwofireplaceshelptospaceouttheGreatHallandLesSalonsandthecustom-madewallcoveringsonthestaircaseshelpsaddasoftertonetotheentirespace.AtthetopofthefireplaceneartheceilingisabranchbowlfromKoreanartistLeeJaeHyo.TheReceptionareaalsofeaturesdramaticringsculpturesbyLeeJaeHyo,aswellascolor-changinglightstocreateastrongfocusandtoattractarrivingguests.Theparchmentleatherpanelonthereceptiondeskitselfhelpstosoftentheoverall"look".Mid-waythroughthehalltotheleftistheaptly-namedWoodsrestaurantandsalon,designedandnamedtorepresentsomethingofthenatureofSwitzerland.Thereisawoodblocksculpturetableattheentranceandawoodenarchandwinecellartodividethesalonandrestaurant.Thedivisionbetweenrestaurantandsalonofferstheguestachoicebetweenmoreformaldiningintherestaurantareaandthemorerelaxedsalon.Asculptureintheformofawallfallingleaves,alsobyLeeJaeHyo,descendsfromtheceiling.Newlightfixtures,madefromthehotel'soldchandeliersfeaturethroughout.

　　LesNationorlibrarybar,forexecutiveguestsandprivateparties,isdarkandquiet,filledwithbooks,enablinggueststorelaxandenjoysomequiettime.Thefurnitureisallleathertoprojectarichnessoftoneandwarmthandthebartablehasanantiquelook.Theceilingisclassicallymoldedandthelargeslidingleatherdoorsenabletheareatobeclosedoffforprivateuse.Upthegrandstaircaseandontothefirstfloor,thereistheBallroomReceptionareawithitsstunningetchedmetalpaneldoorsdesignedbyartistChristianHeckscher.Thereceptionareaitselfisdominatedandhighlightedbyahugesixmeterlongrectangularcrystalchandelierwithacolorchangingfunction,andalimestonefloor.

　　IntheBallroomitself,threedesignelementsstandout-matchingmetalpanels,againdesignedbyChristianHeckscher,glassbeadsinthebasketweaveceiling,whichreflectthelightfromthechandelier,andtheclassicalpatternfabricpanels.Alongcrystallightfixture,againwithchangingcolors,alsodominatesballroompre-functionarea.

　　TheOBarismoremodernthanthelibraryandisopentothepublic.ItsentranceisabigglassslidingdoorwithgraphicsoftreesdesignedbyartistAmandaWeil.Lightertimbers(limeoak),alongwithdarkbrownceilingsandwallcoveringsareusedtomakethebarattractivetotheyoungercrowdandhighlightsincludeafireplace,castglassobjectsbehindthebarandachandelieraboveit.

　　TheBalconySalonhasbeendesignedtoconnectwiththecoffeesalonduringthedayandtheOBaratevening.Ithasthebestviewoftheentirepublicspace.TheCoffeeSalonisforbreaksawayfrommeetings.Thewallandceilingcoveringsarealldarkbrownsandtheareahasafireplaceandthreecabinetsfordrinksandacoldfooddisplay.
